I'm an Associate Professor of Geography at San Francisco State University. My work focuses on health geography; particularly, the relevance of place, space, and scale to health experiences and outcomes. I use arts and humanities content as ways of seeing how people communicate these experiences first hand. In addition to my academic work, I have a project focused on using multimedia storytelling to draw attention to health disparities, StoryBridge.
I am a mom to a six-year old daughter. My husband is also a professor and teaches Geography at one of the local Community Colleges.
Some of the things that motivate me the most are my students and finding new ways to be a better and more inclusive educator. You can find out more about my interests and scholarly work through my professional website, mapademic.
